Girdwood, Alaska is a small ski town 38 miles south east of Anchorage,
Alaska.
The previous name of the city was Glacier city and founded by gold miners
with the abundant deposit located in its mountains and streams. Girdwood
lies in a valley located in the Chugach Mountains surounded by seven
permanent glaciers. It's also a really fun place to live. In the summer
there is a lot of hiking, fishing and rafting. In the winter there's the
epic world class skiing and snowboarding.
